TH Magnesium’s Cal-Al™ Master Alloy is trusted around the world in the production of lead acid batteries. Cal-Al™ allows battery manufacturers to simultaneously add calcium and aluminum to molten lead. Ideally suited for use in both smelters and foundries, the alloy concept ensures consistently high recoveries with very little fume and smoke.

Developed specifically to enable efficient and simultaneous addition of calcium and aluminum to lead battery alloy metals, our Cal-Al™ alloy reduces the reactive nature of calcium, which readily oxidizes when dissolved in molten lead. This eutectic alloy also allows for low-temperature dissolution of aluminum in molten lead to protect against calcium oxidation and fading.

If different calcium/aluminum ratios are required, we will adjust the composition to meet your specifications. Other common grades include 85/15 and 65/35, all packed in 150gk/drum
